( June 3, 1944 – October 21, 2014 )

 

Rick Largent, 70, went to be with our Lord on October 21, 2014 with love and optimism in his heart.

He was a 1962 graduate of Wylie High School, earned his B.S. from the University of North Texas and his M.S. from East Texas State University. Coach Largent gave 49 years in education in various capacities. His coaching career began in Dallas I.S.D. at Rusk Middle School. From there he spent many years in Rusk, Texas as the head football coach and athletic director, as well as Community High School in the same role. He also made stops at Rockwall High School and finally retired from coaching at Naaman Forest High School, where he opened the school as the head baseball coach for its first 9 years. Most recently, he was a principal in Trenton I.S.D. for the past 12 years.   He impacted many lives in a positive manner and will be greatly missed by ex-players, coaches, friends and especially family members.

He was preceded in death his father Red Williams and mother Margie Williams of Lavon, Texas, his daughter Erica Anne Largent and his sister Holly Williams of Lavon, Texas. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Priscilla Largent of Farmersville, Texas, son Stacy Largent and daughter-in-law Suzanne Largent of Little Elm, Texas; and grandchildren Gunner and Taylor, brother Nick Largent of Mesquite, sister Rene Brandenburg of Red River, New Mexico, brother-in-law Jeff Smith of Richardson, sister-in-law Teresa Wimberly of Dallas, sister-in-law Toni Breedlove of Boise, Idaho; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
