Richard W. “Dick” Smith, age 81, formerly of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away November 23, 2010, in Allen, Texas. Dick was born July 4, 1929, in Albany, Texas, to Benjamin Brown and Ruby Lois (Armstrong) Smith. He was a police officer and a member of the Baptist faith. He is survived by his daughter, Becky Meek of Allen, Texas; daughter-in-law, Susie Smith Fowler of Albuquerque, New Mexico; grandchildren, Brandon Meek of Allen, Texas, Candace Rhea of San Diego, California, Heather Meek of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Breanne Smith, also of Albuquerque, New Mexico; great-grandchildren, Landon Meek, Jordan Patton, and Payton Rhea; and sister, Audrey Parker of Albuquerque, New Mexico. He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Richard Wade Smith, Jr., and brother, Rex Smith. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
