Richard Phillip Sauerwein, age 81, of McKinney, Texas passed away March 21, 2010. He was born March 23, 1928 in St. Louis , Missouri to Edwin and Mary (Hector) Sauerwein. On June 10, 1950 he married Geraine J. DuBois in Kirkwood , Missouri . Dick grew up in St. Louis , Missouri and attended the Rankin Technical School. He worked as a carpenter and millwright for more than 50 years as a member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters, Local #47 where he worked on major construction projects throughout the St. Louis metropolitan area. He was an avid marksman and gunsmith as a member of the National Rifle Association and the Glendale Gun Club. Dick, enjoyed a wide range of hobbies including woodworking, locksmithing, as well as beekeeping. He was a long time member of Fee Fee Baptist Church in Bridgeton, Missouri and recent member of Cottonwood Creek Baptist Church, Allen , Texas . Dick's proudest achievement was his role as the patriarch of a loving family. He is survived by his wife, Geraine J. Sauerwein; son, Richard Sauerwein, Jr. and wife, Kathleen; daughters, Debra Williams and Donna Kaminski; grandchildren, Danielle Noland, Brian Williams and wife, Amanda, Kristi Worley and husband, Joe, Gary Williams, Greg Williams and wife, Stacy, Aaron Kaminski and wife, Rachel, Alex Kaminski, Ashley Groke and husband, Mitch; great-grandchildren, Chris Munger, Erica Williams, Raine Williams, Bryce Worley, Kylynn Worley, Korben Williams, Shelby Williams, Ryan Massey, Tyler Williams and Reese Williams. A memorial service will be held at noon on Friday, March 26, 2010 at Fee Fee Baptist Church in Bridgeton, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, please send memorial contributions to the Parkinson Foundation.
