Richard D. "Dick" Power

Dick Power passed away July 27, 2007 at his home surrounded by his family and close friends. He was born on September 10, 1932 in St. Louis, MO. Dick and his four brothers lived an adventuresome life which they revisited after 50 years when they made a return to the Hood in 2002. Dick loved adventure, history and had an enduring fascination for people. He loved to talk to people and made friends wherever he went with his ability to make others feel special. He was loyal to his friends and family and a constant in all their lives. Thoroughbred horse racing was his greatest sports thrill. Dick and his wife Linda, the love of his life, enjoyed traveling together especially road trips as well as the daily routine of their life which they lovingly shared with their faithful companions, Frankie and Charlie. Dick spent the majority of his adult life in the Dallas area working in sales and finance rearing his five children. He was lovingly called “Derds” by his children and “Bumps” by his grandchildren. In addition to his wife Linda, Dick is survived by his children, sons, Tim, Rick and his wife Deborah, Mike and his wife Jaki; daughters, Lisa and her husband Michael and Jennifer; seven grandchildren as well as the mother of his children, Cass Power, brothers, Tom, Michael and Roger as well as a host of friends that will miss him immensely. Pallbearers will be his three sons and three brothers. A Funeral Service will be held at St. Francis Assisi Catholic Church in Frisco Texas on Tuesday at 10:30 AM. Family and friends are invited to the funeral home in McKinney at their convenience on Monday to pay their respects and to sign the register book. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Monday evening beginning at 7: 00PM.
