Richard “Rich” Miles Sr., age 75, of McKinney, Texas, passed away February 18, 2013, in McKinney. He was surrounded by loved ones when he passed away. Rich was born October 26, 1937, in Boston, Massachusetts, to Alvin and Doris (Herman) Mileski. He married Margaret Madeline Daly on September 3, 1961, in El Paso, Texas. Rich's professional career saw the beginning of the Space Program (RCA), the Missile Defense Program (Raytheon) and the Computer/Telecommunication revolution (AT&T). He proudly served in the United States Army, and was also of the Jewish faith.
Rich was a square dance caller for many years in El Paso and Dallas. He loved spending time with his family, watching old classic movies, and taking pictures. Rich was a wonderful husband and father who gave unconditional love, support and devotion to all of us. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Miles of McKinney, Texas; daughters, Theresa Lynn Wietzel and husband, David of Garland, Texas and Margaret Leigh-Ann Somodevilla and husband, Neil of Grapevine, Texas; sons, Christopher Joseph Miles and wife, Senta of Columbus, Ohio and Rich Miles, Jr. and wife, Donna of Weatherford, Texas; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and sister, Lenore Wagoner of Atlanta, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial visitation will be held from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m., Friday, February 22, 2013, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas.
