Richard (Dick) Freeman Jordan, age 81, of McKinney, Texas, passed away February 6, 2009, in McKinney. Dick was born March 12, 1927, in Bisbee, Arizona, to Calvin A. and Mary E. (Myers) Jordan. Dick married June Shafer on October 18, 1947, in Evansville, Indiana with whom he is now joined in Heaven. He was a police officer in Evansville, Indiana as well as a member of the fraternal order of police in Evansville. Dick was a strong supporter of the military having proudly served in the United States Navy during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge 316 in Evansville, in addition to the McKinney Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2150. He is survived by his daughters, Linda Calvert and her husband, John and Janice Hashem and husband, Jim; grandchildren, Dale Hawkins, and his wife, Kim, Trudy Day and her husband, Kevin, and Ginger Bartow and her husband, Tim; and several great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, June. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 P.M., Tuesday, February 10, 2009, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas with Rev. Danny Buster officiating. The family will receive friends during a visitation from 5:00 – 8:00 P.M. Monday evening at the funeral home.
