Richard Duane Holloway

Richard Duane Holloway, age 76, of Wylie, Texas, went to heaven on September 19, 2011. He was born February 27, 1935, to William Verne and Mattie Gertrude (Wilson) Holloway. On February 14, 1955, Duane married Delores Ann Bishop, in Raton, New Mexico. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. Duane worked for Martin-Marietta Company in Denver, Colorado from 1958-1965; he then went to work for G.E. on the NASA Apollo Moon Shot project from 1965-1966; he retired after twenty five years of service from Texas Instruments where he served as a data and configuration manager working on the F-111, F-114 and the Stealth Bomber. Duane loved the lake and water skiing; and he was very proud of his Colorado high school state high jump record which he held from 1953-1961. Duane was a member of First Baptist Church in Wylie, Texas. He is survived by his wife, Delores Holloway of Wylie, Texas; daughters, Judy Schweikert and husband Rick of Dallas, Texas and Pam Holloway of Richardson, Texas; son-in-law, Nelson (Nels) Halverson of Garland, Texas; four grandchildren, Jeremy Halverson and wife Kristie of Plano, Texas, Melissa Halverson Neumann and husband Matt of Garland, Texas, Paul Schweikert and wife Emily of Richardson, and Angela Schweikert of Dallas, Texas; five great-grandchildren, Paul (Tripp) and Richard Duane Schweikert, Layne Halverson, Adam Neumann, and new baby Neumann due in February; brothers, Verne Holloway and wife Routhella of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Gene Holloway and wife Winona of Newport Beach, California, and ODeane Holloway and wife Martha of Denver, Colorado. Duane is preceded in death by his parents, and daughter, Cindy Holloway. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2011, at 10:30 a.m., at First Baptist Church, 100 N. 1st Street, Wylie, Texas, officiating by Dr. Chris Segrest. Interment will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Ridgeview Memorial Park at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow in Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Friday evening, from at 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow.
