Richard Forrest Dunn, age 80, of Garland, Texas, passed away July 25, 2016. Richard was born January 25, 1936, in Dallas, Texas, to Forrest and Agnes (Stults) Dunn. He married his high school sweetheart, Gloria Ann Lipscomb on February 20, 1954, in Durant, Oklahoma. Richard graduated from Sunset High School in Dallas in 1954. He proudly served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. Richard was the Regional Manager for Whitehall Laboratories. He was active in the Garland Jaycees serving as president and he was also past president of Altoga Cemetery Association. Richard was also active in his son’s sports activities. He was a member of the Church of Incarnation Episcopal Church in Dallas, Texas.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria Dunn of Garland, Texas; sons, Richard Dunn and wife, Linda of Port Aransas, Texas and Bob Dunn and wife, Lisa of Chandler, Arizona; grandchildren, David Forrest Dunn, Caitlin Puckett, Cliff Puckett, and Clayton Forrest Dunn and wife, Jillian; and great-grandchildren, Tovah, Leila, Micah, Isaac, and Lydia.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son, David Allen Dunn, brother, Donnie Dunn, sister, Nancy Mankins.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Sunday, July 31, 2016, at Altoga Cemetery in Altoga, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Saturday evening at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas. The family will leave at 10:15 a.m., Sunday morning from Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home to the cemetery. Pallbearers will be Kevin Dunn, Jeffrey Dunn, Clayton Dunn, David Dunn, Mark Mankins, and David Dunn.
