Richard Andrew Etherington, age 47, of Allen, Texas, passed away February 10, 2008. He was born October 8, 1960, in Wichita, Kansas, to Richard and MaryLou Etherington. On July 1, 1994, he married Lenore Marie Case of Jersey City, New Jersey. Andy graduated magna cum laude with a B.S. in Computer Science from Wichita State University in May 1982 and a Master of Science in Computer Science with an emphasis in Systems Programming from Stanford University in August 1984. He worked in the telecommunications industry until he was diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease) in the fall of 2002. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Allen. He is survived by his wife Lenore Etherington and daughters Madison and Isabela; parents Richard and MaryLou Etherington; brothers, Glenn Etherington and his wife Cheri Hunter, and Chuck Etherington and his wife Joni; nieces and nephews, Thomas, Sara, Matthew, Andrew, and Alex; his great-uncle David Monesmith; and Lenore’s grandfather Frank Karol. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, February 16, 2008, at the First Presbyterian Church of Allen with Pastor Brian Grassley officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, Allen, Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to the ALS Association, North Texas Chapter, or the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
