Rex Allen Humke

Rex Allen Humke age 53 of Farmersville, Texas passed away September 5, 2012. He was born September 6, 1959 in Amarillo, Texas to Robert and Ruth Humke. Rex grew up in a military family and lived in many places. He graduated from Judson High School in San Antonio, Texas. Rex followed his father’s footsteps and proudly joined the United States Air Force which included service in Italy. Soon after his service, he started his career in telecommunication with MCI which later became Verizon. With hard work and dedication he advanced within the same company for 30 years. Rex loved to go fishing, spend time with family, friends and his beloved dog Duke. He had a deep passion for music, sports and the great outdoors. Rex was a proud member of the Masonic Lodge and he was a certified Methodist Lay Minister. He was most proud watching his granddaughter, Alexis powerlift and play volleyball and watching Trent play football.  

Rex is survived by his mother, Ruth; siblings, Mike, LeRoy, Sharon, Darrel, Karen, Norma, Rick, Nancy; wife, Linda of 28 years and her daughter, Diana; granddaughter, Alexis and her mother Diana; his partner, Corbi Dillard and her sons Trent and Taylor; and his beloved dog, Duke. 

He was preceed in death by his father, Robert Humke and stepson, Michael McCue.  

A memorial service will be held 1:00 p.m., Monday, September 10, 2012 at First United Methodist Church in McKinney, Texas. A reception is to follow at Dyer Hall.

Memorials may be made to the Rex A. Humke College Fund for his granddaughter, Alexis McCue at any Wells Fargo Bank.
