Rev. Wallace G. Moseley

Wallace G. Moseley, age 78, of Plano, Texas, passed away May 31, 2011 at his home in Plano, Texas. He was born on September 28, 1932, in Spokane, Washington, to William Guthrie and Helen Iona (Robinson) Moseley. On November 28, 1975, Wally married Martha McCreary, in Lucas, Texas. He grew up in Spokane, Washington. Wally graduated in 1954 from Whitworth College with a Bachelors Degree in Religious Studies and was ordained as a minister in the Disciples of Christ Church at Central Christian Church (Spokane) in 1955. He graduated with a Masters of Divinity Degree from Brite Divinity School and began his ministry at East Dallas Christian Church. He was instrumental in developing the church camp program in Athens, Texas. In addition to serving as pastor through the years, Wally also worked as a reserve police officer and was Executive Director of The Texas Bible Society. Later in life, Wally worked for 23 years in the Plano ISD Transportation department. His ministerial career culminated at Forest Grove Christian Church in 2003 when he retired. Wally’s primary focus in life was God and his family. He is survived by his wife, Martha Moseley; daughters, Dorothy Helen Moseley of Salem, Oregon, Patrice Cathrene Frazier and husband Don of Redmond, Washington, and Cynthia Ann Harvey and husband David of Allen, Texas: sons, William Guy Moseley and wife Myka of Dallas, Texas, Wesley Glenn Moseley and wife Lisa of Point, Texas, and Wayne Gregory Moseley and wife Becky of McKinney, Texas; and seventeen grandchildren. Wally was preceded in death by his parents. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The Living Gift, a non-profit organization for pre and post heart transplant patients, 7777 Forest Lane, C750, Dallas, Texas 75230. An alternate organization for donations is Forest Grove Christian Church for the establishment of a grove of trees, Forest Grove Christian Church, P.O. Box 961, Allen, TX 75013, www.FGCCtx.org. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 3, 2011, at 10:00 AM, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel, in Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park, in Allen, Texas. Family and friends are invited to the funeral home at their convenience on Thursday to pay their respects and to sign the register book. The family will receive friends during a visitation Thursday evening beginning at 6:00 PM, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home.
