Rev. Ronald Swedberg

Rev. Ronald Swedberg, age 68 of McKinney, Texas passed away on December 28, 2005 in Plano, Texas. Ron was born on November 9, 1937 in Lake Crystal, Minnesota to Freida and David Swedberg. Ron was married to Barbara on May 31, 1958 and together they had four children. Ron graduated from Lake Crystal High School in 1955 and had just attended his fifty-year class reunion. He attended college at Storm Lake, Iowa and went on to the seminary at Dubuque where he graduated in 1962. Rev. Swedberg was a Methodist Minister for a number of years before becoming a Presbyterian Minister. He retired from preaching in 1993 in Wichita, Kansas. Ron served the Lord in Kansas and Iowa. He was grateful for the opportunity to serve the Lord and especially grateful for all the support he received from the people in Lake Crystal, and especially from the members of the First Presbyterian Church at Lake Crystal. Ron is survived by his children Calvin, Charles and Beth and seven grandchildren. Ron’s joys included serving the Lord and the people of his parishes. His family both immediate and extended were a special joy and treasure to him. He was always happy to find an occasion to be with them. Ron’s mother and father; stepfather, Henry Kluver; eldest son Paul Swedberg; sister, Elizabeth (Toddy) and her husband Dale Rollings; half-sister, Rosetta Guest and sister-in-law, Betty Swedberg precede him in death. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, December 30, 2005 at 2:00 PM at Trinity Presbyterian Church in The Colony, TX. A graveside service will be scheduled in the spring of 2006 at Shadow Oaks Cemetery in Albert Lea, MN.
