Rev. Calvin Clifford Ussery, age 86, of McKinney, Texas passed away Thursday, January 11, 2007 in McKinney, Texas. He was born July 17, 1920 in Denison, Texas to G.H. and Nellie (Westbrook) Ussery. On January 21, 1938 Calvin married Juanita Seabourn in Monticello, Arkansas. Rev. Ussery graduated from Ouachita Baptist University and Southwestern Theological Seminary in Fort Worth. He ministered churches in Arkansas, Oklahoma, Washington, and Texas; including Dunn Memorial Baptist Church, Friendship Baptist Church, East Fork Baptist Church, South Fork Baptist Church, and First Baptist Church Fairview which is now Cottonwood Creek Baptist Church. Rev. Ussery is a member of First Baptist Church, McKinney, Texas. He is survived by his wife, Juanita Ussery of McKinney, Texas; son, Ron W. Ussery of McKinney, Texas; daughter, Joyce Jacobs of Plano, Texas; 5 grandchildren, Ashley Ussery, Alexis Ussery, Jeremy Diviney, Tina Long and Jeff Brady; 5 great-grandchildren, Taylor Eastham, Nicholas Hardin, Kristin Hardin, Emily Brady and Benjamin Brady; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends. Preceding him in death were his parents; 3 brothers, Leon, L.C. and Bucky. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM, Sunday, January 14, 2007 in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel, Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends during a visitation at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home on Saturday evening beginning at 6:00 PM.
