IN LOVING MEMORY

Rebecca Beatrice "Bea" Davis

Dec 18 1923 - Apr 23 2011

Mrs. Rebecca Beatrice “Bea” Davis passed away peacefully into the arms of the Lord on April 23, 2011. She was born December 18, 1923 in Leonard, Texas to William Luther and Lovey Louisa (Harrell) Hartley and was the last of 18 children. Since Bea was the baby of the family, she received lots of love and attention from her brothers and sisters and felt blessed to be a part of such a close knit family. Bea married Don L. Davis, November 29, 1947 in McKinney, TX. She worked alongside him in their family business, Davis Grocery, for many years and retired from Collin County after 20 years. She is survived by her sons, Billy Wayne and wife, Lenore Smith of Durant, OK, Phillip James and wife, Deanie Smith of Krum, TX; daughters, Linda and husband, Gary Hardin of McKinney, TX, Becky Davis James of Bonham, TX, Nikki Davis and partner Kim Spearman of Anna, TX. She loved and adored 9 precious grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She has one surviving brother Gerald Noyes of Amarillo, TX and two sisters, Lois Malone of Sherman, TX and Carrie Hartley of Farmersville, TX. She is preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband, 7 brothers and 7 sisters. Bea loved traveling and having fun and was known as the life of the party. She loved making people laugh and being surrounded by family and friends. She was a member of High Pointe Church of Christ for over 60 years. She loved the Lord and remained faithful to him all her life. She struggled with the terrible disease of Alzheimer’s for ten years, but faced it with grace, dignity and humor, always placing others before herself. She was an inspiration to many and we were blessed by her example. Our hearts are broken at her passing but God has given us many sweet memories that will last until we see her again in heaven. A celebration of Life service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 27, 2011, in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel with interment to follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Tuesday evening beginning at 6:00 p.m., at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, Allen, Texas.
