IN LOVING MEMORY

Reba Bush Robison

Dec 16 1923 - Jan 11 2016

Heaven shines a little brighter with the addition of beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, Cousin and Friend Reba Robison who ascended January 11, 2016 at the age of 92 years.  Preceded in death by husband L. E. (Gene) Robison and son Robbie Lee Robison, those who knew Reba can envision the joyous reunion that took place.

Left to treasure her memory are son Cecil Thomason, son Mickey Robison, daughter-in-law Vicki Robison, sisters Glynita Lacey and Billie Morris, grandchildren Jamie Thomason, Jordan Robison, and Rachel Emard, 5 great-grandchildren and a multitude of other relatives and friends.

Anyone around Reba felt her positive radiance, youthful energy, and received the gift of her laughter whenever they had the good fortune to be with her. She will be remembered for her upbeat personality and positive outlook on life, and as an independent woman of deep faith with a deep love for her family.

Reba had many skills and abilities. She was a wonderful cook and made Christmas all the more special with her delicious Banana Split Cake. Growing up with a total of 10 siblings, and with 8 girls in the family 2 years apart, her Momma didn't have much time to teach the girls but Reba learned to sew and did so beautifully; she also learned to crochet. She loved music and taught herself how to play guitar. In fact, years later she taught Cecil how to play his first five chords.  She loved flowers, especially roses. She kept flower gardens and had quite the green thumb. It has been said that she "could plant a marble and make it grow".

Her independent streak was evident at an early age. She was a Tomboy who loved nothing more than to drive the farm truck or a team of mules. Reba learned how to drive on an old Model A, at a time when a lot of women didn't drive.

Another key trait was her strength of character which was clearly shown as she dealt with adversity and maintained positive in spite of whatever situation she was facing. Her valiant battle with cancer is one example of how she met challenges with dignity, grace and good humor.

Reba's bright light may have dimmed, but all who knew her may be comforted by the memories we hold. These memories surely contain laughter, fun times and, generally, lots of good food. We have all benefited from having known her.

The family would like to express heartfelt appreciation for all the love, support, care and prayers received from so many. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m.,Saturday, January 16, 2016 at United Disciples Christian Church, 601 E. Main Street, Richardson, Texas 75081. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas.
