IN LOVING MEMORY

Raymond Luther Howell, Jr.

May 27 2000 - Apr 02 2015

Raymond Luther Howell Jr., age 14, of McKinney, Texas, passed away on April 2, 2015. He was born on May 27, 2000 in Lawton, Oklahoma to Raymond Luther Howell and Chance (Carter) Howell.

His love for the world and all that it offered was vast. Like many young teen boys he loved to skate. But he also had a larger sense of purpose and enjoyed looking at the world through the lens of a camera. He was also interested in pursuing a career in engineering. Raymond brought smiles to those who were hurting whether they were friends or strangers. His zeal for life resonated with all who knew him. A kindred spirit and champion of the underdog, Raymond showed love and friendship to many, and as a result touched many lives. He possessed the type of compassion in 14 short years that few achieve in a lifetime. Although he is no longer with us, his love and compassion will live on. He is forever loved and never forgotten … our son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, and angel, Raymond Luther Howell Jr.

He is survived by his mother, Chance Howell of McKinney, Texas; father, Raymond Howell and wife Michelle of Rowlett, Texas; sisters, Amber Howell of McKinney and Aslynn Howell of Rowlett; grandparents, Ron and Paula Carter of Valley View, Texas; Rose Howell of Garland, Texas; Bob Howell and wife Mary of Houston, Texas; niece, Teagan Howell of McKinney; uncles, Shane Carter of Spring Branch, Texas, Jason Carter of Dallas, Texas and Chris Carter of Lewisville, Texas; aunts, Roberta Howell of Dallas, Texas and Ramona Schott of Alvarado, Texas; many other loving family members and friends.

The best tribute to Raymond is not the words so painfully shared in this tribute to his life but in the legacy that he leaves behind. It is a legacy of kindness, love, empathy and strength. It should remind us all that small acts of simple kindness matter.

Romans 8:28?—?And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

A funeral service will be held at 10 AM on April 11th, 2015, at Chase Oaks Church – Legacy Campus in Plano, Texas. We welcome all who wish to attend and celebrate the life of Raymond Howell.
