Raymond Peter Garafola, age 70, of Dallas, Texas, passed away January 19, 2016. Raymond was born September 20, 1945, in Rockville Centre, New York, to Michael J. and Hilda (Martinen) Garafola. He married Geraldine Collins on May 28, 1966, in Farmingdale, New York. Raymond proudly served in the United States Army. He was a member of All Saints Catholic Church in Dallas.
He is survived by his wife, Geraldine Garafola of Dallas, Texas; children, Jason Garafola of Dallas, Texas, Angela Crawford, also of Dallas, Karen Peer and husband, John of Anna, Texas, and Peter Garafola and wife, Caitlin of McKinney, Texas; grandchildren, Savannah Peer, Brendan Garafola, McKinnon Crawford, Collin Crawford, Brooklyn Garafola, Kaileigh Peer, Kaitlynn Peer, Sydney Peer, Damon Peer, and Davina Peer; brother, Michael Garafola and wife, Grace; sister, Carol Renda and husband, Gaetano; and cousin, Roy Garafalo and wife, Jane.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Eleanor Bartolomeo, and brother, James Garafola.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 25, 2016, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen. The family will receive friends during a visitation from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m., Sunday evening at the funeral home with a rosary beginning at 6:30 p.m.
