Randall J. Parrish

Randall J. Parrish, age 84, of Frisco, passed away on January 16, 2008. He was born in Dallas, Texas on January 25, 1923. Mr. Parrish, formerly of San Marcos, Texas had resided in Frisco since 2002. Randy served with the United States Marine Corps during World War II, where he was stationed in the Pacific theatre and also in Japan. After WWII, he was discharged and came back to Dallas and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Southern Methodist University. He was employed by Humble Oil for two years before being recalled by the Marines for combat duty in Korea. Upon his second honorable discharge from the Marines he resumed his job with Humble Oil. Randy was a Registered Professional Engineer in both Louisiana and Texas. He worked fro Humble Oil, which later became Exxon Corporation for 34 years. Randy married Marjorie Adams on April 1, 1945. They were married for 62 years. They lived in 16 different cities during their married life, retiring in San Marcos in 1980. Randy provided loving care for Margie as her health declined, making her comfort and care his number one priority for over eight years. He was epitome of a loving partner and a supreme example to those who came to know him during the last decade of his life. Randy lost his beloved Marjorie in August 2007. They had no children; however a host of surviving kinfolks will deeply miss Randy from the Adams, Dansby, and Parrish families. We all know that he is joyfully reunited with Marjorie in heaven. Randy would want to be remembered as a Christian. He was a true gentleman, with an unwavering faith in God. He was quick to credit God for whatever goodness others saw in him. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Frisco. Serving as Pallbearers for Randy are Steve Alexander, Bill Adams, Danny Dansby, Jim Erickson, Sjoerd Adams, and Paul Adams. Robert Paul Adams, Randy's brother-in-law will serve as an Honorary Pallbearer. Funeral Services will be held at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Frisco, Texas on Monday, January 21, 2008 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Joe Gist officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgeview West Memorial Park.
