IN LOVING MEMORY

Ralph Voris Struble

Dec 15 1921 - Sep 27 2015

Ralph Voris Struble, most recently of McKinney, Texas, died peacefully in his sleep in the early morning hours of September 27, 2015. He was born with his twin sister Ruth (Struble) Korman on December 15, 1921 to Harry Struble and Maude (Snyder) Struble in Bellefonte Pennsylvania. He married his childhood sweetheart Geraldine Louise Harpster in 1941. Ralph and Geri celebrated their 74th wedding anniversary this year.

Ralph spent his youth working on the Struble family farm and assisting other farmers with planting, growing and harvesting. He also found time for football, his lifelong passion. He played numerous positions, both offense and defense, for the State College Area High School.

Ralph enlisted in the US Army in 1945, serving as a chemical warfare specialist. After the Army he focused on providing for his family of four: wife Geraldine, son Richard Paul and daughter Janet Louise. He worked at the Penn State Creamery at University Park Pennsylvania, he drove for Railway Express, he worked as a laboratory technician and he built a successful synthetic oil dealership. He “retired” to Florida where he launched a twenty-plus year career bagging groceries. He loved the physical activity and the interaction with the other workers and the customers who streamed through the store.

He is survived by his wife and two children, four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and many other loving relatives and friends. He will be sorely missed but forever fondly remembered.
