Ralph Self, age 87, of Aurora, Colorado, passed away October 23, 2011, in Aurora. Ralph was born February 11, 1924, in Ragtown, Texas, to Ausie Louins and Annie Mary (Pridemore) Self. He married Gladys Marie Herron on March 20, 1943, in Hugo, Oklahoma. Ralph retired from ARCO as a plant shift superintendent. He and his wife were mall walkers at Collin Creek Mall in Plano, Texas for more than ten years. Ralph also enjoyed playing golf weekly at Pecan Hollow in Plano. He was previously an active church member of Waterview Church of Christ in Richardson, Texas and a current member of Southeast Church of Christ in Aurora. He is survived by his daughter, Sheila Lynn Wishard and husband, Larry Dale of Centennial, Colorado; son, Stanley Ralph Self and wife, Camille of Scottsdale, Arizona; grandchildren, Jeffrey Dale Wishard and wife, Donna of North Richland Hills, Texas, Amy Lynn Wishard Goggins of Marietta, Georgia, Spencer Randall Self and wife, Miranda of Royse City, Texas, Travis Dean Self of Carrollton, Texas, Quentin Reid Self of Dallas, Texas, and Jordon Costen of Austin, Texas; and great-grandchildren, Jared Wishard, Jordan Goggins, and Jackson Self. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Gladys Marie Self, and three brothers, Grover Self, Howard Self, and Lawrence Self. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon, Thursday, October 27, 2011, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen. The family will receive friends during a visitation from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home.
