Phillip Don Lundy

Mr. Phillip Don Lundy, age 81, of McKinney, Texas passed away April 23, 2007. He was born July 4, 1925 to Roy James and Mary Louise Lundy in Commerce, Texas. He entered the U.S. Army Air Force just before he was 18 and served 3 years as a radio operator in transport command. He attended Tyler Junior College and the University of Oklahoma where he majored in Petroleum Engineering. Mr. Lundy worked for the Tennessee Gas Pipeline through Tennessee until they bought a small oil company and was one of the first 5 engineers with what was to become Tenneco. He worked for Tenneco for 12 years and became an Independent Drilling Consultant, working the offshore field for 20 years. He spent the last 5 years of his career on inland barges in the Louisiana and Texas area. On December 28, 1951, he married Bettie Andrews in Dickson, Tennessee. He became a devoted member of the church of Christ. He is survived by his wife, Bettie Lundy of McKinney, Texas; son, Roy Andrew Lundy and wife, Jan of Spring, Texas; daughter, LuAnne Lundy and fiancé, Steve McCarter of McKinney, Texas; sister, Patricia Lundy Hollingshead and husband, Bill of Midland, Texas; grandsons, Mark Lundy, Brian Lundy, Matthew Lundy, Kevin Lundy and Zachary McCarter; granddaughter, Anna Elizabeth Lundy and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 28, 2007 at the Rock Hill Church of Christ, Frisco, Texas with Brother Jim Pyburn and Brother Jay Hanley officiating. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Sarah Andrews Trust at Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee or to the Alzheimer ’s Disease Research 22512 Gateway Center Drive, Clarksburg, MD 20871, www.ahaf.org.
