Philip Earnheart

Philip Earnheart was born on March 29, 1925 in Trenton, Texas to Glen Earnheart and Bertha Connelly Earnheart. He graduated Whitewright High School in Whitewright, Texas. He married Margaret Hight on July 22, 1949 in Whitewright, Texas. He passed away on December 24, 2011 at Denison Manor in Denison, Texas. Philip attended Texas A & M University until he was called to active duty in World War II, where he served as a pilot in the Air Force. He was an MIA. and then a POW in Siberia, Russia towards the end of the war. After the war he remained active in the Air Force Reserves where he retired as a Lt. Colonel. Philip was the long time owner of Earnheart Funeral Home in Whitewright. He was an avid fisherman, loved camping, and enjoyed his hobby in the picture framing business. He was an active member of the Rotary Club of Whitewright where he received the Paul Harris Fellowship Award. He was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church in Whitewright. Philip is survived by his son, Rod Earnheart and wife Debby of Whitewright; daughters, Phyllis Earnheart of Carrollton, and Lisa Neathery and husband Marc of Denison; three grandchildren, Adam Earnheart and wife Tammi of Allen, Amanda Earnheart of Seattle, Washington, and Cody Neathery of Jackson, Mississippi; nephew, Glen Earnheart and wife Angela of Louisville, Ohio; one aunt and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his wife Margaret Earnheart; mother, Bertha Connelly Earnheart and father, Glen Earnheart; brother, Billie Glen Earnheart; and daughter, Sue Earnheart. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at 2:00pm at the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Whitewright. Officiating the service will be Rev. Van Lazaroff, Rev. Mike Rutledge, and Rev. Eric Rothe. Pallbearers will be Larry Presley, Jack Rodgers, Mike Holloway, Ralph Hughes, Billy Hamilton, and Phillip Allison. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Whitewright. The family will receive friends one hour before the service. Memorials may be made to Grayson Home Hospice, First United Methodist Church of Whitewright, the Whitewright Public Library or the Whitewright Fire Department.
