IN LOVING MEMORY

Philip DeBowsky

Oct 25 1926 - Aug 17 2015

On Monday August 17, 2015 Philip DeBowsky left us for his glorious appointed time to be with the Lord after a courageous battle with Cancer. He was 88 yrs. young and lived in Frisco, TX.

Philip DeBowsky was born October 25, 1926 in New York and moved to Connecticut when he was in his 20's. He met his wife Gloria and married Sept 2, 1956. They were married for 59 yrs. and were together for 64 yrs. He leaves his wife Gloria who was his best friend, soul mate and love of his life. He loved her with all his heart and would do anything for her. He leaves his children, David, Drew and Bonnie, 2 daughters in law Debbie DeBowsky and Joanne DeBowsky and leaves 8 grandchildren, Danielle, Katelyn and Ryan, Tanner, Jarrett, Peyton, Todd, and Isaiah.

Phil moved to Texas with Gloria in October 2003. He was born and raised in a Jewish family and found Jesus when he was 70 yrs. old. He and his son David were baptized together with many friends and family watching. Phil loved the Lord and his faith grew deeper attending Prestonwood Church. He was strong in his faith and never doubted anything because God was with him through it all. Phil loved to sing at church and usually off key but he did not care. He was singing to the Lord with all his heart, soul and mind. There would be a peace and a joy on his face as if he felt he was in the very presence of God when he worshipped in song. Dad experienced heaven on earth when he was praising the Lord and it was a pure joy to watch him loving the Lord with all his might.

Phil had a never ending zeal for life. He made friends with everyone he met. He had a wonderful sense of humor and he never met a stranger. He would walk into any room and you would know he was there. He would light up the room with his infectious personality as you couldn't help but laugh and smile around him. It could truly be said that to know Phil was to Love Phil. He and his wife loved spending time at the Frisco Senior Center where they truly have the most amazing and devoted friends. They were their extended family and Phil cared deeply for each and everyone one of them. Gloria joined the choir there and although Phil was not a part of the choir, you would hear him singing every song in the back of the room (Off key of course and at the top of his lungs). He was then made the honorary Choir mascot. He simply loved life and people! When he wasn't at the center, you would find him in the pool at his son’s home. He so enjoyed swimming. It was rejuvenating to him and he was so content when he was in the water. You would not be able to get him out of the pool even after several hours had passed until his Gloria yelled at him that he was getting too much sun!

We thank our dad for his unconditional love, encouragement and life lessons. We his family, friends and everyone he touched will miss him dearly and are thankful that God chose him and that he is now rejoicing CANCER FREE in heaven.   As he would always say “God Bless you, and God Bless us all”. See you soon dad.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 24, 2015 at Prestonwood Baptist Church, 6801 W Park Blvd., in Plano, Texas.

In Lieu of Flowers Memorial donations may be made to: www.1stlifeplanning.com, a parent governed residential housing organization dedicated to providing housing for adults with disabilities.  An organization his son David is actively involved in as a founder and current board member.
