Perry Ole Stephens

Perry Ole Stephens, age 91, of Denton, Texas, passed away August 20, 2017.  Perry was born January 19, 1926, in Wichita, Kansas, to Jesse Dial and Idamae (Kirkpatrick) Stephens.  He married Patricia Ann Dugger on October 11, 1951, in McKinney, Texas and they were married for sixty-five years.  Perry proudly served as a Merchant Marine during World War II and played the clarinet in the Marine Band during the Korean Conflict.  He retired from the Grand Prairie ISD as a band director.  Perry and his wife loved to travel and were members of the D/FW SAMS.  He was an Elder of First Christian Church in Grand Prairie and was instrumental in establishing the day care center.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Ann Stephens of Denton, Texas; daughter, Carol Wade and husband, Scott also of Denton; son, Paul Stephens and wife, Jan of McKinney, Texas; grandchildren, Matthew Stephens, Kimmie Stephens Nelson, Kellie Stephens, Andrew Stephens, and Zachary Wade; brother, Tom Stephens; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Terry Stephens.

A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, August 22, 2017, at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas.  The family will receive friends during a visitation from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m., Monday evening at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen.
