Paul Gatten of McKinney, Texas passed away November 15, 2011 at the age of 78. He was born December 5, 1932 to Granville Goeble and Lora Frances (Denny) Gatten in Amarillo, Texas. Paul was born and raised in Amarillo. He graduated from Amarillo High School in 1951 prior to attending West Texas State. Paul served his country in The United States Army and The United States Navy during the Korean Conflict and Vietnam. He married Betty Jo Edwards on April 9, 1958. They made a home and raised their children in McKinney where they resided for over 40 years. Paul was a member of Waddill Street Baptist Church of McKinney. He is survived by his sons; Michael Gatten and wife Christine of Garland, Texas, Ronnie Gatten and wife Deborah of Little Elm, Texas, Richard Gatten and wife Laurie of McKinney, Texas, Mark Gatten and wife Tina of New Hope, Texas, Terry Gatten and wife Cherilyn of Princeton, Texas; daughter, Tammy Robbins of McKinney; 15 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; brother, Jerry Don Gatten of Houston, Texas and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins. Paul was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Joe Edwards Gatten; granddaughter, Taylor Rae Gatten and parents, Granville and Lora Gatten. Funeral services will be held 12:00 noon, Saturday, November 19, 2011, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas. Interment to immediately follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park, Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Friday evening beginning at 7:00 pm at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas.
