Paul Byars Foster

Paul Byars Foster, age 88, of McKinney, Texas passed away April 5, 2011. He was born November 27, 1922 in Childress, Texas to John P. Foster and Alpha (Byars) Foster. Paul was a graduate of Farmersville High School. On August 1, 1940, he married Dorothy Faye Davenport in Farmersville, Texas. Paul proudly served in the United States Army and was veteran of World War II during the Pacific Campaign. He served with the Army First Calvary, where he served with General MacArthur. He was a semi-pro baseball player in Dallas, Texas. Paul was a 50+ year member of St. John’s Masonic Lodge. He was a supervisor with Intercontinental in Garland, where he worked for 35 years. Paul was a long time member of Waddill Street Baptist Church, where he was a Deacon and taught Sunday school for many years. He is survived by his sons, Frank Foster and wife, Margaret of Possum Kingdom, Texas and Ronnie Foster and wife, Trina of McKinney, Texas; daughter, Paulette Foster Maffioli of McKinney, Texas; fifteen grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Alpha Foster; wife, Dorothy Foster; sons, Donnie Joe Foster and John Paul Foster; grandson, Paul Eugene Foster. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 9, 2011, in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel with Dr. Woody Wilson officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park, Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Friday evening beginning at 7:00 p.m., at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, Allen, Texas.
