Patrick M. Harvill beloved husband, father, family man, and friend passed away in his home on December 28, 2010. He was born August 7, 1955 in Perryton, Texas to Robert S. Harvill and Norma R. (Marshall) Harvill. Pat will be remembered most for his love and commitment to his family and friends, his positive outlook on life, his unwavering care for others, his passion for the auction business, his obsession for airplanes, and of course his love for the University of Texas. Pat graduated from Conroe High School in 1973 and graduated from the University of Texas in 1978 with a BBA Degree in Real Estate/Finance. Pat met his wife Jelia at the University of Texas and they were married on March 29, 1980 in Dallas, Texas. Since Pat was 7 years old he helped his uncle, Asa Marshall and his business partner, Ben Hudson with their auction company, Hudson & Marshall, based in Macon, Georgia. Pat officially started working for the company in 1978. In 1986 he opened the Texas office, and in 1996 created Hudson & Marshall of Texas, Inc. with his longtime friend Dave Webb. Pat and Dave proceeded to grow their business and set the standard for real estate auction companies. Pat’s commitment to the auction business was evident to everyone he met. Equal in passion to the auction business was Pat’s love for flying. Upon earning his pilot’s license in 1983, Pat started a charter jet company. As his career changed he kept a close hand on airplane joysticks through ownership and many hours soaring the blue skies. Pat demonstrated his undaunted passion for living and caring for others throughout his life. Even during his 16 year battle with cancer these commitments never wavered. He made many friends along the way and gained the respect of everyone that he met. He will be deeply missed. Pat is survived by his wife, Jelia Harvill of Plano, Texas; son, Brandon Harvill of Plano, Texas; daughter, Kristen Harvill of Plano, Texas; parents, Robert S. and Norma Harvill of Conroe, Texas; sisters, Sharlane Billman and husband, Greg of Houston, Texas and Lynn Rich and husband, Jon of Denver, Colorado and numerous nieces, nephews and other loving family members and friends. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 31, 2010 at Grace Presbyterian Church, 4300 West Park Blvd., Plano, Texas 75093. Rev. Bryan Stamper and Rev. Rolfe Granath will be officiating the service. A private graveside service at Ridgeview Memorial Park will precede the memorial service. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Thursday evening beginning at 7:00 p.m., at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, Allen, Texas. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Grace Presbyterian Church or to the American Cancer Society.
