Patricia Sauntry

Patricia Sauntry, age 94 of Frisco, Texas, formerly of El Paso, Texas passed away on January 30, 2014 in Frisco. She was born in Sioux City, Iowa on July 5, 1919. Patricia grew up in Sioux City and on September 12, 1939 married the love of her life Jack Sauntry. They had four children. After living in Hastings, Nebraska, Sidney, Nebraska and Las Cruces, New Mexico they made their home in El Paso, Texas in 1965. They resided there until 2010 when they moved to Frisco, Texas to be closer to family. They were married 72 years until Jack’s death in 2011.

Patricia worked at White Sands for many years. She was a devout Catholic and a longtime member of St. Matthew’s Parrish in El Paso and most recently at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Frisco. Patricia possessed a true servant’s heart. She faithfully cared for her family and friends and always found the best in every situation.

Family, friends, entertaining and dancing were the things that brought her the most joy. She touched so many hearts in her 94 years. She will truly be missed but always remembered.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, John and Marie Ryan; four sisters and one brother; daughter, Patty Ann Roll and her husband, Jack Sauntry.

Survivors include her three sons, Mike Sauntry of Houston, Texas, Tim Sauntry and his wife, Karen of Frisco, Texas, and Mark Sauntry and his wife, Kristi of Overland Park, Kansas; ten grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

The family will receive friends at a Visitation to be held on Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Frisco, Texas from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 PM. Full Mass and Burial will be held in El Paso where she will be laid to rest with her husband, Jack at Fort Bliss National Cemetery.
