IN LOVING MEMORY

Patricia Ann Ford Denman

Aug 25 1932 - Sep 29 2016

Patricia Ann Ford Denman, 84, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 29, 2016, surrounded by her loving family at home in Plano, Texas.  She was born August 25, 1932 in Brazoria County, Texas; to Robert Hugh Ford and her mother, Bertha Ganell Watson Ford from Wichita Falls, Texas, raised her.  Pat had one sister, Laverne and two brothers Elvin (Roma) and Robert (Jane).

At the age of ten, Pat moved to The Methodist Children’s Home in Waco, Texas, when her mother was disabled with polio.  Pat thrived and was very popular and happy residing at the Methodist Children’s Home.  She was in their special chorus and performed as a soloist with the chorus around the state of Texas.

After graduation, Pat moved to Wichita Falls and was employed by City National Bank. Her brother Robert and his wife Jane introduced Pat to her future husband, Tom, and it was love at first sight.  A short three months later they were married in Wichita Falls, Texas on December 23, 1953 and eventually settled in New Orleans, Louisiana.  Pat worked along side of Tom in their business ventures and they joyfully raised their two children Robert Dewitt Denman and Elizabeth Gaynell Denman Daigle.

Tom and Pat loved each other dearly and were a united team dedicated to God and Family. They were blessed enough to enjoy many years of wonderful travel, as well as the endless joy of family gatherings.  They were both active in St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, Harahan, LA and St. Matthew’s United Methodist Church in Metairie, LA.  Pat was active in the choir and United Methodist Women.  They were life long supporters and active alumni of The Methodist Children’s home in Waco, Texas.

Pat’s beloved husband Tom passed away in 2002.  Pat moved to Plano to share time surrounded by family and friends.  Pat led a Christ-centered life as a member of St. Andrew United Methodist Church~Plano, Texas and was proud of her time committed to St. Andrew United Methodist Church, Women’s Group Sarah Circle and PALS.  She has always been a supporter of The Methodist Children’s Home, St. Andrew United Methodist Church and the US Military.  She loved attending all events with her family including cheering on her granddaughter, Jordan, who cheered for the Dallas Cowboys as a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader for three seasons, TCU Football games, and just about anything sports related and all of her grandchildren’s events over the years:  church, school, theatre, baseball, basketball, football, soccer, dance recitals, choir events, singing….any and everything that involves her family. One of Pat’s favorite things to do is “Go to the Lake” she loves spending time on Cedar Creek Lake surrounded by family and God’s beauty of the water, sky and forest.

Pat was diagnosed in March 2016 with Alzheimer’s disease, and never lost her faith or her love for life.  She remained positive and hopeful throughout her Alzheimer’s journey.  Her precious memory will live on in her children Elizabeth and Robert and her grandchildren:  Chase, Alex, Jordan, Nick, Victoria, Quintin, Rougie and Tracey as she leaves with them her legacy of inspiration, and her teachings of living life with character and integrity.

When Pat walked into a room she had a smile that would light up a room.  She was a mentor to many and advised many family, friends and colleagues over the years. She always had a way of making people feel comfortable with her easy-going attitude.  She always cared for other people and saw the good in them.  She had a spirit and heart of forgiveness and compassion.

Pat lived out the verses:

1 Corinthians 13: 7-8  "Love...trusts in all things, hopes for all things, endures all things. Love never fails."

Matthew 6:14-15  “For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.”
