Oscar Reagan, Jr.

Oscar Reagan, Jr. of Plano, Texas passed away August 16, 2015 at the age of 81. He was born January 14, 1934 to Joseph Oscar Reagan, Sr. and Lydia Lillian (Cook) Reagan in Baskin Louisiana. After high school, Oscar joined the Air Force and began a career that lasted twenty-one years. While in the military, he worked as an Electronic Technician on B-47 aircraft, a Quality Control Inspector on Atlas missiles and Electronic Technical Engineering Analyst on Minuteman missiles. In recognition of his contributions to the missile programs, he was awarded both the Air Force Commendation Medal and the United States of America Meritorious Service Medal. He retired from the Air Force, completed his BS degree and began working at First National Bank in Dallas, Texas. While there, he helped develop the credit cards program and over the next seventeen years served as Operation Manager, Marketing and Operation Manager and Special Project Manager. Oscar retired in 1994 as a Vice President with Bank of America. With free time on his hands, he pursued a lifelong dream of becoming a published writer. He wrote and published seven books in a number of genres.

In 1956, Oscar married a hometown girl, Evelyn LeNora Cupp of Baskin, Louisiana. They recently celebrated their fifty-ninth wedding anniversary. He was a longtime member of The Heights Baptist Church in Richardson, Texas.

Oscar is survived by his wife Evelyn of Plano, TX; son, Larry Reagan and wife Sherri of McKinney, TX; daughter, Debra Reagan of Plano, TX; 4 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; sisters, Melbia Gilcrease of Bossier City, LA, Ellen Lee of Bossier City, LA, Shirley Remore of Monahans, TX; brothers, Bill Reagan and wife Voncille of Baskin, LA and Len Reagan and wife Mavis of Bossier City, LA.

A funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at The Heights Baptist Church, 201 West Renner Road, Richardson, Texas 75080. Interment will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the Dallas- Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation Tuesday evening from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jacskon-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.
