IN LOVING MEMORY

Orville Tallant

Apr 20 1914 - May 06 2012

Orville Tallant of Princeton, Texas was 98 years old.  He was born April 20, 1914 and passed away Sunday, May 6, 2012 at the Villa Asuncion Assisted Living Home in Princeton surrounded by his loving family.

He retired from The Texas Highway Department.  He worked at aircraft plants in Fort Worth, Garland and Greenville.  He worked in the copper mines in Bisbee Arizona.  He loved farming.  Orville is a fifth generation family man.  He is survived by daughters, Aletta Baxter and husband Lloyd of Anna, June Taylor and husband Sam of Princeton; son, James Tallant and wife Cheri of Wills Point; daughter-in-law, Nell Tallant of Princeton; grandchildren, Mike Hunter, Tony Tallant, Sherry McGuire, Connie Gilliam, Vickie Smith, Randy Tallant, Audra King, and Tim Tallant; several great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; two sisters, Lesa Faye Stanley of McKinney and Weta Rumsey of Chesapeake, Virginia.

Preceded in death by parents, Andrew Lee and Georgia Caroline Tallant; wife Edna Tallant; one son, Clint Tallant; eight brothers, Henry, Luther, Gilliam, Elbert, Otis, Tom, Harley, and Odis; two sisters Levie Viola Tallant and Louvenia Boswell.

Orville’s greatest joy was when he was working in his garden, raising all kinds of vegetables to give to family, friends, and neighbors.

He surrendered his life to Christ and felt he should not work on Sunday.  He said he prayed for Jesus to take him to live with him when he prayed each night.  He was a strong frugal individual and felt you should get by with what you have.  He was loved by everyone.  He had a great sense of humor as each grandchild could tell you their own experience with him being teased.  He believed in respect and taught this trait during his entire lifetime.  He will be greatly missed.

Funeral Services will be held, 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas.  Interment is to follow at Ridgeview Memorial Cemetery in Allen, Texas.  The family will receive friends during a visitation on Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 at the funeral home.
