Orlena Davis Rigsby, age 87, of Plano, Texas, passed away June 26, 2013, in Plano. Orlena was born February 22, 1926, in Whiterock Community, near Melissa, Texas, to Joseph Alexander and Eula Jane (Thompson) Davis. She married Samuel Billy Rigsby in Dallas, Texas. Orlena retired after twenty years with the IRS. She was a member of the Gas Lighters Book Club in McKinney, Texas. Orlena was active with the Plano Center and in her community. She was also a member of Meadows Baptist Church in Plano where she was involved in the CPA Sunday School class.
She is survived by her children, Darlene Murphy and husband, Mickey of Plano, Texas, Ricky Rigsby and wife, Delores of Smyrna, Tennessee, and Anita Roberson of LaVergne, Tenenssee; sisters, Iva Pearl Caudell and Lynn Mullinix, both of McKinney, Texas; sister-in-law, Thelma Davis of Sherman, Texas; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Billy Rigsby, son, Rodney Rigsby, brothers, John, Rayford, and Frank Davis, sister, Rita Tippey, and grandson, Jason Murphy.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Friday, June 28, 2013, at Meadows Baptist Church, 3001 Los Rios Blvd., Plano, Texas, 75074. Interment will follow at Stoney Point Cemetery in Melissa, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m., Thursday evening at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas.
