Oral Eugene “Gene” Taylor (1930 – 2007) was born in San Saba, Texas. The family moved to Raymondville, Texas in 1938 where Gene attended school and graduated in 1947. He was then employed by Raymondville State Bank retiring in 1995 as a Vice-President. He is survived by his wife of fifty-three years, Violet Shelburn Taylor; daughters, Bobbye Dale Costello and her husband Cort, Brenda Gale Hall and her husband Lee; grandchildren, Kevin Scott Eastin, Taylor Lee Hall, Samuel Peyton Hall, Jensen Thomas Hall, Laura Grace Hall, Shannon Christine Hall, Van Elliot Hall, and Grainger Lee Hall; and sister, Nila Mae Smith. Gene was preceded in death by his parents, Early and Grace Taylor; sister, Emma Ruth; and brother, Douglas. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, July 27, 2007 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel with Lee Hall officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park.
