Ophelia Harben, age 100, of McKinney, Texas, passed away June 25, 2011, in McKinney. Ophelia was born March 15, 1911, in Winder, Georgia, to Emory F. and Nina (Corn) Harben. She was a hairdresser and owned a beauty shop in Denton for many years. Ophelia was of the Baptist faith. She is survived by her sister, Wanda Lou Fisher of McKinney, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of other loving family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Jesse Harben, Halmon Harben, Paul Harben, Guy Harben, Broughton Harben, and sisters, Estee Miller, Alice Strickland, Eva Harben, and Viola Hollen. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 28, 2011, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen. The family will receive friends during a visitation one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
