Opal Chandler Lentz

Opal Chandler Lentz, age 89, of Lewisville, Texas, passed away October 7, 2014. She was born April 27, 1925 in Chambersville, Texas, to Marvin Monroe and Mary Margaret (Mantooth) Chandler. On July 23, 1955, Opal married Raymond Lewis Lentz in Dallas, Texas. She grew up in Chambersville, where she attended schools. Opal’s hobbies included sewing and working with flowers and plants. But most of all Opal enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Opal was a member of the First Christian Church of Lewisville.

She is survived by her daughters, Phyllis Diane Glenn of Carrollton, Texas, Pam Whitehead and husband Terry of The Colony, Texas; grandchildren, Rachel Curry, John Glenn, Zack Whitehead and Travis Whitehead; great-grandchildren, Mallory Curry, Autumn Curry and Brayden Curry; sister, Mary Rogers of Denton, Texas; several nieces, nephews and a host of other loving family and friends.

Opal is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Lewis Lentz; parents, Marvin and Mary Chandler; and six brothers.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, October 13, 2014 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Cemetery. The family will receive friends during a visitation being held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Sunday evening at the funeral home.
