Odette “Bitsy” Westcott, age 84, of McKinney, Texas, passed away March 5, 2011. She was born March 25, 1926 in Houston, Texas to John Ralph and Velma Allen Whaley. On February 4, 1980, Bitsy married Lloyd “Bud” Mortimer Westcott, Jr. in Coco Beach, Florida. She was a member of First United Methodist Church inMcKinney where she also sang in the choir. Bitsy's love of music began at an early age when she and her sister Lou used to sing on the radio in Gainesville, Texas. She was an accomplished piano player and loved to play for small, intimate gatherings of friends and family. Always kind and gracious, Bitsy attracted many wonderful friends into her life. People were naturally drawn to her loving soul and beautiful blue eyes. She is survived by her sons, Russell Butz of Covington, Louisiana, and Allen Butz and his wife Regina of McKinney, Texas, as well as by her granddaughter, Tolli Jeanne Butz of Dallas, Texas. Bitsy was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sister, Lou Callahan. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, March 8, 2011, at 2:00 p.m., at First United Methodist Church in McKinney, Texas.
