Norman Earl Matheny, Jr.

Mr. Norman Earl Matheny, Jr. age 60, of Anna, Texas passed away suddenly of a massive stroke on January 6, 2008, at the hospital. He was born January 25, 1947, in North Little Rock, Arkansas to Norman Earl Matheny, Sr. and Joyce Lucille (Fulmer) Matheny. He served in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. On February 2, 1968, he married Gloria Suzanne Settle in Westminster, Texas. Mr. Matheny retired from Southwestern Bell in 1999. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Anna and a member of the Pioneer Club. He is survived by his wife, Suzie Matheny of Anna; daughter, Nancy Keenan of McKinney, Texas; son, Mark Matheny of Anna; grandchildren, Clay Keenan and Collin Keenan both of McKinney, and Madison Matheny of Van Alstyne, Texas; and sister, Shela Mathewes of Rowlett, Texas. Mr. Matheny was preceded in death by his sister, Vilinda Matheny and his parents. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 11, 2008, in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel with Rev. David Meeks officiating. Interment will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery in Westminster, Texas. The family will receive friends for a visitation from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Thursday at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home.
