Norma Louise Lena Meyer, age 86, of Allen, Texas, passed away September 18, 2011, in McKinney, Texas. Norma was born May 10, 1925, in Waterloo, Illinois, to Arthur and Frieda (Methier) Fischer. She married Henry Phillip Meyer on April 17, 1946, in St. Louis, Missouri. Norma was happiest when she was spending time with her family. She loved music and singing in the church choir. Norma also enjoyed gardening, her weekly bingo game, bowling, and traveling. She is survived by her husband, Henry P. Meyer of Allen, Texas; sons, Ron Meyer and wife, Colleen of Columbia, Missouri and Terry Meyer and wife, Paula of Allen, Texas; sisters, Virginia Hamilton of St. Louis, Missouri and Dolores Dilley of California; brothers, Melvin Fischer of California and Robert Fischer and wife, Pam of Florida; grandchildren, Kathryn Fry and husband, Jonathan of Moore, Oklahoma, David Kitchen of Columbia, Missouri, Eric Meyer and wife, Sarah of Wylie, Texas, Mark Meyer and wife, Jackie of Irving, Texas, and Cortney Baker and husband, Jason of Plano, Texas; great-grandchildren, Madelyn Fry, Raegan Fry, and Cooper Fry, all of Moore, Oklahoma, Issak Brazeal of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Connor Meyer, Jordan Meyer, Danny Burks, Robert Burks, Tommy Burks, and Billy Burks, all of Wylie, Texas, Landon Baker, Gracie Baker, and Reagan Baker, all of Plano, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Art Fischer and Wilbur Fischer, and sister, Viola Modglin. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, September 22, 2011, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas. 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas, 75013. Interment will take place at 1:00 p.m., Thursday at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas, Texas. Family and friends are invited to the funeral home at their convenience on Wednesday to pay their respects and to sign the register book.
