Norma Price McDaniel

Norma Prince McDaniel, age 86, of Frisco, Texas passed away August 20, 2010. She was born in Waco, Texas to Alice Jaynes and Frank Lightfoot. Norma led a full life as a mother, wife, and accomplished business woman. During World War II she worked for the war department. After raising her family, she and her first husband opened and operated the Union 76 Truck Stop in Rockwall, TX for almost 20 years. She chose to follow the Methodist faith later in life. Norma is survived by her children, Robert Gardner of Odessa, Texas, David Gardner and his wife, Nancy Mecodangelo of McKinney, Texas and Catherine Wilson of Coppell, Texas; grandchildren, Timothy Gardner, Kathryn Sandlin, Joseph Cramer, Jill Cramer, Dawna Villinger, Jeniffer Hankinson, Stephen Gardner, Michael Gardner, Alice Wilson, and Stewart Wilson; eight great grandchildren and sister, Margurite Drury. Norma is preceded in death by her first husband, Kenneth Gardner; second husband, Joe McDaniel; parents, Alice and Frank Lightfoot; brother, Curtis Lightfoot; sisters Shirley Beddinghaus and Edna Purdy; grandsons Kenneth Gardner and David Cramer; and granddaughter Kellee Cramer. A memorial service will be held in San Antonio, Texas and burial will be held at the National Cemetery in Houston, Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
