Norma E. Leana, age 93, of McKinney, Texas, formerly of Sun City, California, passed away September 9, 2014, in McKinney. Norma was born December 12, 1920, in Syracuse, New York, to Ellis and Laura (Wilcox) Gilbert. She married Robert Leana on February 15, 1941, in Syracuse. Norma was known as the “lemon pie baker” of Sun City. She loved to bake and cook. Norma loved her family and grandchildren. She enjoyed a good practical joke, traveling and playing cards. Norma was a member of Sun City Methodist Church for twenty-nine years. She volunteered with numerous charitable organizations and assisted with their fund raising activities.
She is survived by her daughter, Pamela Kerns of McKinney, Texas; son, Michael Leana and wife, Kathy of Roseville, California; grandchildren, Kira Thrailkill, Jennifer Leana, Heather Cain, and Brett Leana; and great-grandchildren, Danyelle Coolidge, Ashley Coolidge, Kyle Harper, Andrew Cain, and Taylor Cain.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 16, 2014, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas.
