Noel Everett Crume

Noel Everett Crume, age 63, of Allen, Texas, passed away May 17, 2016.  Noel was born December 21, 1952, in Joplin, Missouri, to Harold Leo and Helen Lucile (Peters) Crume.  He grew up in Joplin, MO and graduated from high school in 1970. 

After high school, Noel proudly served in the United States Army Reserves while playing baseball for the Missouri American Legion team

While playing American Legion baseball, Noel was invited to try out for the Kansas City Royals. He played minor league baseball through the mid-late 70’s.

Noel then met Kathy Dunkel. He and Kathy married on December 12, 1981 at First Christian Church in Plano, Texas. Noel and Kathy were married, and members of First Christian Church, for 34+ years.

Noel studied Tax and Real Estate at Texas A & M University. After working a few years in the corporate world, he started his own consulting firm, Crume & Associates, Inc. Noel owned and operated Crume & Associates for 30+ years. 

Noel was very involved in the Allen community, including; President of Chamber of Commerce, and serving on the boards of Allen’s Planning and Zoning and Rotary Club committees.

Noel loved sports, especially Golf. He enjoyed being on the course where he formed many of the close friendships he still has, and playing in many charity golf events. He also coached Little League baseball and football for several years.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy Crume of Allen, Texas; children, Mandy Merriman and husband, Robbie of Joplin, Missouri and Collin Crume and wife, Mandi of Allen, Texas; grandchildren, Gavin Merriman and Layni Merriman; sister, Ada Emmert and husband, Terry of Riverton, Kansas; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of other loving family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his four brothers.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 28, 2016, at First Christian Church, 813 E. 15th St., Plano, Texas, 75074.

Memorial donations may be made to First Christian Church of Plano.
