Nita Christopherson, age 85, of McKinney, Texas passed away May 31, 2011. She was born November 30, 1925 in Dallas, Texas to Treva (Thompson) Winter and Otto Winter. On June 22, 1946 Nita married Ray Christopherson in Dallas, Texas. She was a member of the First Christian Church in McKinney. She is survived by her daughter, Joan Bowers and husband, Ron of Hemet, California; sons, Phil Christopherson and wife, Laura of Nashville, Tennessee, Jon Christopherson and wife, Lisa of Dallas, Texas; granddaughters, Beth Messenger of Nashville, Tennessee and Kirsten Christopherson of Austin, Texas; grandsons, Phillip Christopherson of Tampa, Florida, Chris Bowers of New York, Eric Christopherson of Dallas, Texas and Scott Christopherson of Dallas, Texas; great-grandsons, Brice Messenger of Nashville, Tennessee and Brady Christopherson of Tampa, Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Treva Winter; husband, Ray Christopherson and two brothers, Bob and Jim Winter. Graveside services will be held at 9:45 a.m., Friday, June 3, 2011, at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, Dallas, Texas. A memorial service will be held at 12:00 noon, Friday, June 3, 2011, at First Christian Church, McKinney, Texas with Dr. Neill Grimes officiating. The family will receive friends during a visitation from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Thursday, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, Allen, Texas.
