IN LOVING MEMORY

Neva Atkins Bell

May 17 1927 - Jan 18 2008

Neva Atkins Bell, age 80, of McKinney, Texas passed away January 18, 2008 in McKinney. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was born May 17, 1927, in Anna, Texas, the daughter of Joe Lee and Nancy Jane (Murley) Atkins. On December 26, 1945, she married Eugene Bell in Sherman, Texas. She was a faithful member of Community North Baptist Church (formerly North Baptist Church) in McKinney where she taught the Ruth Class for many years. Neva was an avid 42 player at the McKinney Senior Citizen Center and a loyal McKinney Lions fan. She worked for Haggar Slacks for over eighteen years and then she retired from JCPenney after twenty-three years of service. Neva’s greatest example of being a Christian was her great love for her husband, children, grandchildren, family and a host of friends that numbers will not cover. She is survived by her daughter, Sherry Lynn Bell of McKinney; son, Randy Gene Bell and his wife Debbie of Prosper; grandchildren, Kevin Strickland and his wife Andrea of Princeton, Kyle Strickland and his wife Tracy of Prosper and Kim Brackeen and her husband Ryan of Prosper; great-grandchildren, Heath, Brock, Jayeden, Baylee Blu, Taryn and Tate; sister, Joyce Law and her husband Bill of Burleson; sister-in-law, Corene Atkins of Lake Dallas; and many nephews, nieces, cousins and other relatives. Preceding her in death were her husband, Eugene Bell in 1987; and brother, Willie Atkins in 1992. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, January 21, 2008, at Waddill Street Baptist Church in McKinney with Rev. Danny Buster, Dr. Bruce Austin and Rev. Ron Liles officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Sunday evening at the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
