Nelma Laveda Rogers of Culleoka, Texas passed away March 5, 2009. She was born May 7, 1918 in McKinney, Texas to Samuel Lee and Nora Ella (Putman) McMillan. On October 21, 1934 she married Noah Franklin Rogers in McKinney, Texas. Nelma worked for Action Company for thirteen years and at the Cotton Mill for fifteen years. She also worked at the Senior Center in McKinney. She was a member of Culleoka Baptist Church. She is survived by her children, Laverne Patterson of Culleoka, Patricia Shelton of Culleoka, Frank Rogers and wife, Kathleen of Princeton, Patsy Bisterfelt of Tom Bean, Joan Rogers of Wylie, Karen Musgrave of Denison, Sandra Kay Schunemann and husband, Al of Wylie, Sherry Johnson and husband, Rodney of Grand Saline and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Noah Rogers; parents, Samuel Lee and Nora McMillan; daughters, Ica Lou Townsend, Eva Janell Waide; son, Joyce Lee Rogers; sisters, Grace Hastings, Sylvia Enloe, Betty Welborn Akin and Thelma Bearden. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, March 8, 2009 in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel. Interment will follow at Wilson Chapel Cemetery, Lowry Crossing. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Saturday evening beginning at 6:00 p.m., at the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, Allen, Texas.
