Nellie Jeanette Ternquist, age 87, formerly of Minneapolis, Minnesota, passed away December 25, 2010, in Allen, Texas. Nellie was born February 8, 1923, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Gary and Myrtle (Hegg) Ryals. She married Merlin W. Ternquist on March 18, 1944, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He preceded her in death in April of 1983. Nellie grew up in Minneapolis, Minnesota where she attended schools. She enjoyed crocheting, cooking, gardening, and playing cards. Her granddaughter and great-grandchildren were the joy of her life. She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Bydlon and husband, Richard of Allen, Texas; granddaughter, Laura Pope and husband, Charles of Bloomington, Indiana; great-grandchildren, Sophie Pope, Richard Pope, and Anna Pope; and a host of other loving family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, Gary Ryals, and sister, Eunice Klingsheim. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 29, 2010, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas with Pastor Arnold Clauson officiating.
