IN LOVING MEMORY

Nell Templin

Oct 18 1931 - Aug 13 2017

Nell Templin, surrounded by her four children and special friend, Steve Rizzo, was welcomed home by her loving husband of 51 years, Joe Templin, and her precious granddaughter, Jaclyn Hughes, on Sunday, August 13, 2017.  Mr. Rizzo and her kids sang to Nell as she passed peacefully at her home in Prosper.

Nell was diagnosed with crippling rheumatoid arthritis at the young age of 25. She suffered tremendous pain all of her life, but she didn't let it get her down. She sewed, painted, cleaned, cooked, and took care of her husband and us kids without ever complaining.  At the age of 74 she could still smack a softball. She was voted most athletic in 1950 and she stayed serious about her sports her entire life. The only thing she loved more was her God, our Daddy and us kids. And, in that exact order. Well, until the grands and great grands came along and we think us kids moved down a notch!!!!  We miss our sweet momma already, but it gives us great comfort to know our Daddy, Momma and Jaclyn are together until we all meet again.

Nell was a wonderful momma and is survived by her son, Michael Joe Templin and Kim, of Anna; daughters, Donna Elliott and husband, Kenny, Paula Saylors and husband, Mike and Lori Ostrander and husband, Steve, all of Prosper.  She also leaves behind 10 grandkids, Marcy Bergman and husband, Grant; Marc Elliott and wife, Whitney; Marty Elliott and wife, Sara; Kaleigh Hughes; Blake and Brody Ostrander; Lorin Hicks and husband, Dylan; Karlee Cox and husband, Cody; Tiffanie Garcia and husband, TJ; and Austin Templin; 15 great grandkids, Trendan, Ariel, Brady, Addyson, Gray, Joseph, Max, Lawson, Isla, Henry, Alexys, Ayden, Anabella, Ameliya and Ariyana.  Momma also had two of the best caretakers who enabled us to be able to keep her in her home:  Shelby Burris of Farmersville and Joann Cole Slaven of Prosper.

Preceding her in death was her husband, Joe Templin; Granddaughter, Jaclyn Hughes, her mother and daddy, Jasper Floyd and Beatrice Hays Morris; Brother, Alton Floyd Morris; and Sisters, Elma Lowry and Doris Sue Stelzer.

Nell was also special to many other family members and many friends in Prosper and surrounding communities.  She had a tremendous influence on all the many lives she touched and was loved by all that knew her.

The children would appreciate any stories or experiences you have shared with their momma.  Please email them to:  nelltemplinmemories@yahoo.com.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. August 26, 2017, at the High Pointe Church of Christ in McKinney, Texas, 3201 N. Central Expwy., McKinney, TX 75071.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
