Nelda Rogers Stulting

Nelda Rogers Stulting, age 71, passed away in the early morning hours of December 14, 2008, after a valiant six-year battle with a progressive chronic illness. She was born in Merit, Texas, on October 21, 1937, to Reverend O.B. and Mabel Rogers. On October 11, 1958, she married R.E. Stulting, and together they had six children. In 1973, they moved their family to the McKinney/Frisco area, where the entire family was deeply involved in both the Frisco school district and the First United Methodist Church of Frisco. Nelda served there as church secretary for the church for over 20 years. She was a wonderful, caring mother and grandmother, whose love for God, little ones, and family will be cherished forever in our memory. She will be greatly missed. Nelda is survived by her children, Sharon Higgs of Frisco, Kathy and Javier Escobedo of McKinney, Russell and Kelly Stulting of Frisco, Karen Stulting of Anchorage, Alaska, Trish and Mike Whitlock of Frisco, and Julia and Gilbert Stulting-Flores of McKinney; grandchildren, Amanda Higgs, Kara Escobedo, Ryan Stulting, Jordan Whitlock, Cassidy Whitlock, Reilly Whitlock, Cameron Stulting-Flores, Sophie Stulting-Flores, Lilia Stulting-Flores; and great-grandson, Grayson Escobedo Turner. She is also survived by siblings, Sylvia Adams, Joan and Robert Russell, Cokey and Velda Rogers, Jimmy and Margaret Rogers, Gary and Janie Rogers, and Larry and Suki Rogers, as well as numerous beloved nieces, nephews and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, R.E. Stulting; her parents, O.B. and Mabel Rogers; her brother and sister-in-law, O.B. and Mary Rogers; brother-in-law, Thomas Adams; and nephew, Wesley Rogers. Family visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 16 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home (Hwy 75, Exit 38) from 6 p.m to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 17 at the First United Methodist Church of Frisco, Reverends Doug Miller and Bill Meek officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park.
