Nathaniel Eugene Ewing, age 68, departed this earth on August 1, 2011 with members of his family by his side. Nathaniel was an incredible singer and servant of God. He was involved in the community and he loved helping to feed those in need. He delighted himself in distributing food to senior citizens and mentoring those around him. At any given moment he would sing a song that would definitely put a smile on your face and make you want to dance. He loved serving and protecting his pastor. His gentle voice and quiet nature was a strength to the DayStar Deliverance Ministries Church. Nathaniel is survived by his wife of 6 years Minnie, his children, Karetta (Edwin) Mosley, Sherry Adkison, Kenneth (Marcia) Ewing, Karen Ewing and Leatrice (Robert) Carey. He is also survived by his siblings,,Odie (Floydia Mae) Ewing, Darlene Ewing-Cook and Dan Ewing. He will be missed by his wife’s children who affectionately called him Pops: Gerald (Jacqueline) Hawthorne, Cheryl (Artis) Jackson, Eric (Jackie) Hawthorne, Lynette (Stafford) Shofner and Darius (Chandra) Hawthorne He was preceded in death by his father, Odis Ewing, Sr. his mother Lela Maria Linscome and siblings- Bennie Faye Jeter, Lee Grahamn Moore, and Kenneth Ewing. He leaves to mourn 12 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation will be Friday, August 5, 2011 from 7:00PM - 8:00 PM at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow funeral home, in Allen, TX. The tribute service will be held at DayStar Deliverance Ministries located at 635 West Campbell Road on August 6, 2011 at 10:00 AM followed by graveside intermittent at Turrentine -Jackson-Morrow in Allen, TX. His beloved wife, Pastor Minnie Ewing will officiate the service.
