Narvel "Nody" Eddy Parker, Sr.

Mr. Narvel “Nody” Eddy Parker, Sr., age 63, of Farmersville, Texas passed away March 10, 2007 in Hamilton, Texas. He was born December 30, 1943, in Minden, Louisiana to Ernest Earl and Florence (Cooper) Parker. On June 28, 1978, he married Delilah Owens in Delhi, Louisiana. Narvel earned his Bachelor’s Degree from East Texas Baptist University and a Master’s Degree from Louisiana Tech with degrees in Education. He received his Superintendent Certificate from Stephen F. Austin University. He was a teacher, coach and administrator since 1966 in Louisiana and Texas. Nody coached high school, college and semi-pro baseball and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Princeton. Currently he was the Director of Auxiliary Services for the Princeton Independent School District. Nody enjoyed golfing, was an avid baseball player, a fan of the game and a Yankees fan.He is survived by his wife, Delilah Parker of Farmersville, Texas; children, Jann Parker of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Deana Parker-Dzurik of University Park, Texas, Ernie Parker of Edmond, Oklahoma, N. Eddy Parker, Jr. of Farmersville, Texas; grandchildren, Michael and Andrew Dzurik both of University Park, Texas; brothers, John R. Parker of Malvern, Arkansas, Gaylen Parker of Arcadia, Louisiana; sisters, Ernestine DeMarco of Blue Bell, Pennsylvania, Billie McDonald of Texarkana, Texas and a host of other family members and friends.He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Florence Parker and a sister, Martha Jean Cantrell.Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, March 15, 2007 at the First Baptist Church in Princeton with Rev. Carl Rider officiating. Interment will be a 6:30 p.m., Thursday at Bayou Macon Cemetery, Pioneer, Louisiana. The family will receive friends beginning at 5:00 p.m., Wednesday at the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home.
