Nancy Joann Haskell

Wife, mother, grandmother and sister, was born February 4,1939 in Shelbyville, Tennessee to Mildred and Sanford Carlton. Died suddenly from undiagnosed cancer. She died on January 22, 2008 in Plano, Texas at age 68. Raised in Detroit, MI, where she graduated from Commerce High School in 1957 and then married Forrest Haskell that same year. They celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary April 12, 2007, with a dance and dinner party at the Stonebridge Country Club followed by a sea cruise with family. She was Stonebridge Country Club’s Mixed Doubles Tennis Champion with her husband in 2002. She was an artist who owned her own art gallery and also, at one time, owned a movie theater in Michigan. She worked at Baybrooke Nursing Home in McKinney, Texas, where she was the weekend activity coordinator. Preceding her in death was her mother, father and brother Curtis. She is survived by husband Forrest Haskell, sister Linda Russo of Delaware, children, Ramona and husband Warren Corwin, Cynthia and husband David Bain, Mark and wife Norma Haskell, Guy and wife Holly Haskell, nine grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will also be held, Sunday January 27th, at 5:00p.m.at McKinney Fellowship Bible Church on 2801 Orchid at Eldorado Street. Her body will be cremated and laid to rest in Rockport, Texas, where a gravesite service will be held at the old Rockport Cemetery on February 2nd at 12:30pm.
